Photography: Poetry, " To Be Held"
In this photography unit, the students set out to take pictures based on a poem of their choosing. I chose to do a poem on nature during a rainstorm, so I chose to take pictures of the rain on pine needles as well as some tall grass that had rain on it which works with the words, "no longer parched in the hot land". I also took pictures of the ground that show the small amount of life which can be seen in the minuscule places. To look at the web page click on the picture below that has a title.

Photography Motion: IB Dancers On October first the digital photography team went to the Highline with eh IB dancers. The objective for the photographers was to capture the dancers in motion. The photographer photographed the dancers as they moved along the Highline and made different poses, some of which were static and others, which consisted of jumping or spinning in the air. After all of the photos were taken the photographers choose ten of their favorite photos and edited them in a photo editing software called Adobe Lightroom.

Photography Unit: Forced Perspective In this photography unit I set out to photograph different things in a forced perspective. The first photo shows a martial arts figuring kicking my monitor our of the way, although it is actually not. I really liked this image because I felt that it appeared very clean with different shades of back. The second photo is a sharpie cap that has been placed onto a bottle. I also really liked this photo because of how well the colors between the bottle and the cap blended, making the cap look like it could possibly be the real cap.

Photography Unit: Selfie vs Self Portrait In this photography unit the students set out to take one self portrait and eight selfies. We also had to research a style of self portraits in order to find out which we liked the best. I personally liked the style where the sides are cropped heavily and the photo is mostly abstract. I've also found that a lot of these self portraits had heavy shadows, which sadly I could not incorporate due to the iPhone 8 not taking good photos in the dark. I liked the idea of highlighting my self portrait by placing it in the middle and having the selfies on the side. I tried to have the selfies that interacted with other objects on the left while having more "standard" selfies on the right. I feel that my self portrayed conveyed a message of hope. I tried to display this message by looking up and away from the camera. I also tried to make my face very bland showing that it is neither happy or sad. I also chose not to put any of these pho
